 > Michael S. Bekele
HOW TO EAT A MOUNTAIN

The screenplay Imagine a Place, written as a contribution to A Nomadic Book, becomes the starting point for exploring the connections between inner and outer landscapes and the boundaries between dreamt, remembered and lived terrains, both physical and those evoked through music. Accompanied by cinematographer Amanda Muisyo, Bekele traversed the Alta Via Dolomiti 1 trail, collecting images and sounds for his upcoming short film How to Eat a Mountain. The film investigates the exuberance of internal and external landscapes and seeks to capture the music contained within pulsating, vibrant bodies.

B-MOVIES

B-MOVIES is a performance project that revolves around the construction of a film made by and about female secondary characters and their progressive taking of positions within the frame. The project investigates the links between genre movies and gender issues and focuses on one type of film that is controversially related to the female body: horror movies.

The project is supported by Creatività Contemporanea of the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council program(2024).

TO FAWN THE FAUN

To fawn the faun is a poetic, research-driven inquiry into enchantment, transaction and relational ecology as both survival and creation developed by Maria Isidora Vincentelli with the collaboration of Oli Cox, London-born writer and facilitator. Providing the basis for a performance piece in 2026, this creative-critical text will explore The Faun (mythologicalcreature) and To Fawn (survival response), specifically how each of these twinned human/deer characters shape or are shaped by dominative forces of the present moment.

> Maria Isidora Vincentelli (dancer and performer-maker)
she collaborates in interdisciplinary projects between Europe and the UK and works with musicians, filmmakers, and visual artists on the creation of performance works that cultivate the body’s intuitive intelligence to create states in which to dream new ways of being in the world.
